BIOGRAPHY
Philippe Duchêne graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris, where he studied graphic arts until 1988. He began working as a professional illustrator during his final year, and after various experiences in comic books, publishing (Nathan) and the press (Paris-Turf), he entered the animation industry in the early 1990's at Jean Chalopin’s production studio.
Since then, Philippe has contributed to over 30 animated series as a character designer, storyboard artist, art director, writer, and director. Passionate about cinema and filmmaking from an early age, he has been focusing on writing and developing his own film projects since 2013.
He is currently developing an animated short film, TOM'S WALK, produced by Minéral Films and in search of financing, as well as an animated feature film, THE SAMURAI'S WILLOW currently in writing.
FILMOGRAPHY

His first animated feature film, ZAK & WOWO, THE LEGEND OF LENDARYS, which he created, wrote, and directed, was produced by PM.SA and released in French cinemas in July, followed by an international release in 2024.
Previously, Philippe was the original creator and character supervisor of the animated feature LEAP! produced by Quad Cinéma, Caramel Films and Gaumont. Released in France at Christmas 2016 (1,828,075 admissions) and in the US in summer 2017, the film grossed over $100 million in worldwide box office revenue.
In 2020, he worked as a character designer on the animated series SAMURAI RABBIT: THE USAGI CHRONICLES, produced by Gaumont Animation and Netflix, and released in 2022.
As a screenwriter, he also co-wrote the animated TV series IDEFIX & THE INDOMITABLES, produced by Albert René Editions and broadcast on France Télévisions in 2021, and later on M6 in 2022 and Gulli in 2023.
